Significance of the Project
In the face of the global environmental crisis, solutions based solely on technology or legislation may be insufficient without a fundamental shift in consciousness.
Research Objectives
- To study the relationship between Vipassana meditation practice and the cultivation of environmental consciousness.
- To analyze the effects of meditation practice on changing consumption behavior and resource management.
- To propose an integrated Buddhist approach to ecosystem restoration.
Conceptual Framework
This research views "inner nature" (the mind) and "outer nature" (the ecosystem) as interconnected. When the mind is refined through Vipassana practice, compassion and respect for all living beings arise naturally, leading to more environmentally friendly decisions.
